Purple and Bronze Autumn Wreath

Each year I keep my red, white, and blue front porch decorations up through September 11th.  Then I switch out my patriotic summer decorations for pumpkins and leaves.  This year I have veered from my traditional fall colors, having decided to use a bronze and purple color scheme on our front porch.  I painted real pumpkins in a purple ombre and today I would like to show you how I made the coordinating purple and bronze autumn wreath.

I was inspired by this pin of a purple ombre wreath from Twig and Thistle.  I would love to link back to their tutorial, but their website seems to have been shut down.

Purple Ombre Fall Leaves

I pulled a few handfuls of dollar store leaves from my stash and painted them with the same BEHR paint that I used for my Paint Drip Pumpkins.  After they had dried, I stapled them onto my Year Round Wreath in an ombre pattern.  Finally, I cut a dollar store foam pumpkin in half with a drywall saw and sprayed it with Plutonium 3rd Place Metallic.  I attached the pumpkin to the wreath form with floral pins.

The purple ombre leaves blend in well with our front door, while that metallic bronze jumps right out at you.  Check back later this week to see how the whole porch came together!
